Spotlight Review: Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion Inn

There are many accommodations in Key West to choose from. There is not a Bed and Breakfast quite like Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion Inn. The location is less than a block from the renowned Duval Street. Guests leave the car in their free parking space and walk to the actions of Key West. There are multiple entrances to Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion Inn, so remember to bring your key (yes, an actual key and not a card). The staff welcomes you with open arms. Always willing to assist with a smile.

Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion Inn has 28 various guest rooms and suites to choose from. You can choose to stay in the 2-story guest wings of the mansion or cross the street at the James House. I selected the Deluxe King room. It was located upstairs looking towards the pool area. Some of the things I loved about the room: spacious, clean, two sinks (one in bathroom and other in room), mini-refrigerator, a day bed, sitting area, shower only, and multiple windows. There is an iron and iron board for those wrinkled travel clothes. I loved the original décor of the crown molding throughout and double door entrance.

Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion does not have a restaurant on-site. It’s a bed and breakfast. The breakfast includes many continental breakfast options. What stands out are the cook-to-order eggs and hot breakfast meats. BIG BONUS…two hours of self-service happy hour with snacks and live music in the evening. Talk about getting ready for a lovely evening in the Key West. The pool is a small size (don’t expect practicing for the Olympics) but ample space to enjoy. They provide washing detergent for the guest’s washer and dryer. As a tip, there are two laundry locations at the mansion.

Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion Inn provides a free self-tour for guests. There are three levels of the mansion to explore. Get to know the owners through the archives and trinkets. Don’t miss the opportunity to see where the Lady of the House resides. In addition, climb up the Widow’s Walk for a 360-degree views of Key West. Overall, I would recommend making reservations her.
